Fascinating. I can’t help but wonder if cinematographers coming out of film school these days are as skilled in optics as to come up with a front projection rig like the one mentioned the documentary.

I love 2001. How do you feel about the interpretation of the film that says there are no aliens and that the monolith is a sort of meta/recursive representation of the cinema screen? I was only recently exposed to it, but it’s a very compelling analysis, I think.
