I've been around the boards recently, I never did introduce myself properly so here we go. I'm Joel, I live in the Burlington, VT area, I'm 51 years old and have been a Trek fan since I was a little kid watching reruns on WPIX out of NYC in the 70's. I'm very new to the whole prop building scene, though I've watched a few of these boards for years, I've never had the time to dive in. I'm dipping a toe in now with some simpler stuff, hoping to increase the skill set by hanging out here. I'm in awe of many of your creations.
I had the pleasure of meeting some of you at the Set Tour on Ticonderoga, which only served to rekindle my fandom even further. Many of you have done some amazing work there, and I can't go back soon enough. I felt very much like I was aboard NCC-1701.
I love most things Trek, but TOS will always hold a special place. There's that, and there's everything else. I can tolerate the Kelvin timeline, but I think of it as something different and far less interesting if that makes any sense.
I appreciate the hospitality so far. Over the years, I've found Trek fans to be some of the coolest people anywhere, and this board is no exception.
