I was having trouble sleeping last night, so I decided to get up for a while and work on something a bit, something I've wanted to complete drafting useable templates for years:
Based on screen-used dimensions I found years ago, once built this will measure 16" tall by 9" wide. Still trying to determine the thickness of each part, using reference pics on my HD.
The plan is make it out of layered Sintra (PVC) board, of which I still have most of an 4x8 foot sheet sitting down in my workshop area. It's great stuff, lightweight and easy to work with.
Not that I'm necessarily going to start building this just yet, as I have a couple other builds (not for myself) that require finishing before I should start focusing on my own projects.
I just wanted to share what progress I'd been able to make on the template, particularly since the circular design at the bottom has been difficult to nail down ever since I decided I wanted one.
I'm so very glad I was able to get that looking right, so I can finally move on to the next step.
EDIT: I think I'll go to the plastics shop near me and get them to engrave that design onto a 1/8" thick acrylic circle, which will serve as an insert into the bottom end.
