@pielock373 and I went to the MIT Flea Market over the weekend, which was a lot of fun.
It was also nice all of us having brunch with @karen at my place afterwards to talk about the latest progress on her book Jewelry of Star Trek.
At any rate, I managed to find several promising candidate items for encapsulation into Cage comms. I got six tubes in two of the types I had been contemplating. I believe the ones I found to be desirable because they both are more flat/wide compared to the others I have and because they have five leads, which I think (though I am not certain) is how many the originals had.
Raytheon CK5672 I like this particularly because they have the right kind of black bit at the top. They also have a solid sheet with a wrinkle in it rather than the finned wire that the other tubes have. And on closer inspection, I think it's possible that may be how the original was—maybe.
They look good, but the black bit at the top is only really visible on the back as it shows through to the front.
Any thoughts about which is the better match?
I also found an unbranded rotary switch that looks roughly correct. It has at least helped me to know what to look for when searching for more in other venues.
