Just having a bit of fun…
Mine (bottom right) next to a John Long shell (top Left).
John Long shell (top) Mine (Bottom).
All of these can be seen on permanent display at the Star Trek Tour in Ticonderoga NY.
Plaster bucks I made for this build.
What would be even BETTER would be for them to be available for SALE.
Thats a money shot there …OMG!
Beautiful work Steve!
Nice work there! How did you bend the antenna rim?
Yes this is 100% me. vacuum forming, antenna bending, soldering, making all the parts and watch installation.
Here’s the video I took of @pielock373 ‘s presentation at Trekonderoga last year. He covers vacuum forming and shaping of the antenna lid. Look for @JoeB who assisted with the presentation.
Nice build man, I never get tired of seeing these communicators.
Looks awesome Wah . . . errr. . . I mean Steve.
You drill the holes in the brass sheet, correct?
Yes using Joe b way of doing it.
I didn’t notice in the first photo on this thread that you were comparing your shell to a JL (on my phone I thought it was a top and bottom shell). The tight pull you got compared to JL is really evident; really great work Steve.
Steve always had that love of TOS, it was fun when We were all waiting on that JLong Comm to come out. I better get some some work done, I will.
