Yes But SLA is not long lasting archival wise. It also tends to be brittle over time. Were as with printing in ABS you can use the part from the machine as your prop or cosplay with some cleanup. It also doesn't cost as much to reprint if the director want to change the size. My SLA Can print 7" X 7" X 9" at 25 microns.
I absolutely love my Zortrax. I run a makerspace where we have several other printers and nothing comes close to the quality and reliablility of the M200.
Cannot say how happy I am to anounce that we now have the first replica hero tricorder with iPod screen !
Love it. Looks awesome. And strangely familiar
Another persons work !
Hmm that looks familiar
this needs a lot sanding
yes just my first attempt.
A little something that arrived in the mail yesterday and I am starting to play with now. Going to mold the top of the scanner and the round piece that fits into the rear then cast in clear plastic. Sanding and dry fitting the top part of the scanner now. Coke can gives an idea of size.
Due to circumstances beyond my control I have uploaded the files to thingiverse ! Just in time for the holidays too ! https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2673609
trekcolencc1701's files are great. That's where mine came from.
Cole, thanks for posting the files! Is there meant to be a horizontal gap in the body around where the recessed band is? It looks like maybe the upper and lower body are meant to be separate parts, but it reads as one piece when editing the STL.
It's designed like the original prop. to slip a 7th Gen iPod in for a active graphics screen display.
The reason for the line is due to my limited print size .. it's to be cut there for a 2 piece print .. it was hard to get out for some reason .. and your welcome ! It was fun to see the response people gave when released !
does the round scanner fit in the back?
here not, i tryied so many different skallings of the small scanner
Yes, it fits into the back of the tricorder.
ok.... and which scaling is it?
I don't understand your question "which scaling". Everything in the file was printed at the same size.
