I'm looking for any detailed information on what they termed the "dilithium articulation frame" that made up part of the Warp Core chamber assembly on the Ent-D:
These are the two best images I could find, though many of the smaller surface details are still indistinct.
What I'm hoping to find is general dimensions of the screen-used original, as well as any pics that would better show the finer surface details, and possibly a break-down of materials used.
I'm thinking of trying my hand at scratch-building one of these, thought it would make for a unique display piece
I know we see it used on several occasions, mainly as part of the Ent-D's warp core, but I recall seeing it used for the Hathaway in the Season 1 episode "Peak Performance" when the crew of the Ent-D is performing those war games.
For that episode, they repainted it silver and attached little bits of dilithium crystal to the inside of both articulation arms:
I'm sure it was redressed more than once, but the above episode is the most prominent instance that comes to mind for me. I would imagine the arms are comprised of acrylic, likely 1/4" thickness, with the base maybe being 1/2" or 3/4" MDF or some other composite material.
I'd like to be able to size this based on more than simply eyeballing it, as I've done for other projects, though I don't know if there's really any info available regarding the dimensions for this obscure set piece.
Perhaps Mike from @hms can share some info on this piece, if they were indeed contracted to construct this particular item.
