Looking for images of original and replicas for a build of this. Also, I was told in Tyconderoga that the coloured buttons were poured resin. Does anyone have the button sizes?
Here’s a couple pictures of a replica I used to own.
I have a DStines one that I can measure Steve.
Great Scott, dual meaning. lol
The buttons are all slightly different but are 12 mm x 8 mm in general.
Here is a pic of mine. I believe it’s from Mairecki. I can take some measurements this weekend to compare to the DStines.
If I’m not mistaken the DStines was actually designed by Replicator1701 whom I believe had access to an original.
Wow, Incredible. Worked on a P1 body a bit tonight.
Those do look like repainted bridge gels, especially the smaller ones.
They are simply the square cube buttons poured at an angle.
There were a few props that used resin buttons which were achieved by tilting the molds to obtain new shapes.
These are grabs from a video of what is being represented as the actual screen used prop.
Looks pretty authentic to me.
The crispy on the original seems to be the square type. What is the front on yours done with.
Who built the one you use to own, DStines?
Fresno_Rob’s is a DStines.
gold small square identical to screen used prop
So it’s just clear red that I need plus gold tape? The other buttons can be made from wood and painted?
That would be my take on it.
What spray paint did you use?
I don’t like rattle cans (generally) for any of my prop builds.
I used lacquer based automotive paints House Of Kolor is one of my preferred… I custom mix my colors.
I also use Duplicolor…
