The trouble with modeling TNG tricorders with traditional parametric modeling software is that it means modeling a very smooth and flowing organic form (due to the vacuum forming) using solid modeling, which is nearly impossible. You can get close by basically modeling what the buck would have been, but the soft and gentle curves between edges will not be there.
The best STL would be one from a 3D scan, which is very expensive to obtain (a good scan anyway).
I know this doesn’t help much, but I’m just providing some context for why good STLs probably don’t exist out there yet. As 3D scanning becomes more accessible over time, we’ll probably see more of this kind of thing popping up around the web.
