I think I found the case which was used for this prop.
Looks the ticket to me! Is the sizing right?
I don't know.
Hmmm, I know @jhusel has worked on the beyond Tricorder, perhaps he can help out as the placement of the tricorder in your picture above should allow for an easy scale comparison to confirm sizing.
I'll measure tonight, but I do not know the actual measurement of the real prop. I did my best guess.
That isn't the correct one, I have a couple of the right versions I bought right after seeing the screen used ones about a year ago.
Which is the right version? What are the differences between this one and your ones?
I'll post pictures tomorrow after work, just got home and still beat from the convention and traveling.
I posted about this in the McCoy Kelvin Scanner Thread.
This case was made for and used in Star Trek Into Darkness:
I'm 99% sure it is the 14inch version available on Amazon.I am currently looking into getting the metal plates cut/engraved.
I knew I'd read about this somewhere! Thanks for the input.
Correct Dimensions: 10" x 14" x 3 ¾"
The picture with the ruler looks like it's less than 14".
I believe you can but them at Joanne's (cheap knock off brand) & it was also a case used for some kind of airbrush kit.
ok, no problem i ordered a case now, also the plastic front is no problem, my only problem is the badge....
its the same bad work like with the discovery padd... but ok..
back in few weeks...
For the badge I would use just a sticker.
no no, thats unproffessional, i will see how deep the material must be, when the case is here.... i think 3mm for the sheet is to much, but lets see...
3D printed. At least that is what Im going to do.
Here's the template I worked up for mine. Never was able to get one cut.

nice! do you have this as ia. or eps, the laser only works for cutting only with vector files?

Very nice Nicky, My laser will cut PDF files if you want one let me know.
