Something that as become a "new" tradition for our set tour prop meet ups is The Raffle. It's a fun way to acquire new stuff and raise some money for the museum. Both worthy endeavors. You never know what "wonderful toys" somebody will bring. Our last meet up was no exception. So when @sanjoelo came in with a Megabloks D7 Battlecruiser under his arm I asked him what was that. He said it's for the raffle and my immediate thought was that I'm not leaving this building without that under my arm. Well the fates prevailed and I won it.
I built it over the course of two nights and had a blast. Megabloks is basically just like Lego and I loved Lego as a kid. And boy has it come a long way. When I finished it I thought what next, well the Enterprise of course. Fortunately the fates intervened again in that our anniversary and a sale on Amazon lined up.
The Big E, and I do mean big arrived July 5. The box is as big as a suitcase with two slightly smaller boxes inside. I started it right away and binged built yesterday and finished it today. What another blast. There where a few times I thought a piece was missing but they turned up. But in the end there was one missing but as good luck would have it there was an extra part that could be cut down to fit. So no problem. This thing is super way cool and the engines even light up. Nancy has offered to take it appart so I can rebuild it. I may take her up on that.
