Hello All,This is my first post here as I just joined your forum. I have just finished scratch building my Phaser today. It is made of sheet styrene and Tamiya 2 parts epoxy putty. I broke the phaser into 5 sections for ease of build with the handle being the most complicated. This week I will be spraying a coat of Tamiya gray primer followed by a top coat of Tamiya TS-94 metallic gray. I will post more picture when painting is complete.
Wow. That's some really impressive work, with sheet styrene and epoxy putty no less! Mad skills.
Thank you very much.
I've been a user of milliput....looks like I should try the Tamiya putty!
Oh...and excellent job on the build!
Very impressive work , I feel like a cheater designing STLs !
Nice Work. Welcome to the Fleet Workshop.
Wow is right. Shaping parts has been so essential to prop building for so, well, forever really.
wow so this is not a 3d print?WOW
This is a old fashioned scratch build, the epoxy putty helps for all the compound curves in the design.
Dang, that's great! I love it.
Thank you everyone for your kind words.
Wow really impressive So you are born 1967 that's no so old do be expert in this technically way
Today it's so easy with 3D print but the way to make a good cad file is very very hard and time intensive
So I think both ways took same time?
JeffVery impressive work never seen anything quite that good by hand.
Damn if that doesn't look like its was printed, just without print build lines!
Very nice work! Welcome to the forum.
Well this is a great first post!
