Good grief! I thought I worked pretty fast. Very nice work.
I really like that one Jason.Great job.
Let's use the phaser as an example. What does it cost you per piece in material?Once you are proficient with the software, how long does it take to make a model file?
I haven't priced them but the price isn't bad. $10 in filament maybe, but that doesn't include the cost of the machine which is a pretty high investment.
For a model, just depends on detail. 2-3 days off and on as I have time.
and you must say that you work unnormal fast, for the 29th phaser i took a week, also test prints to find the right form and curves...
if you take shapeways as factor, i would take for estimation 2doller per hour printing time...
Base coat done. Need to airbrush, add and paint some more details, and do graphics
And coming up next.
We've created a monster!
Hahaha. I spend so much time on a PC and not much time in the shop, it's nice to print while at work, come home and finish them
Yeah, MONSTER for sure
WOW these are some great pieces you have made!!!
Finished it up last night. Hope to have the binoculars finished tonight.
TNG Cardassian Tricorder
nice , all air brush?`
what is this part?
Mostly automotive paints, with black airbrushing.
Finished this up tonight. Added clear plexi, painted black on the backside for the lenses. The photo makes it look lighter than it really is, I'll fix it and repost tomorrow.
STV McCoy Binoculars
We use these at work (and have printed something very similar to what you have in this thread). They're amazing quality prints for the money, have been amazed at how little cleanup has been needed with some of our prints.
Not done yet, but close. I'm excited about this one.
Very nice Jason.
the last 3 parts, i dont remember and dont know what this is
these items are incredibly detailed and have very crisp and clean edges. That latest item; are those plant ons that are along the side of what appears to be a handle or are they the printout? very neat.
