A Brad Nelson P1 that was on another auction site is now on eBay.
Brad Nelson P1
This may be one of those P1’s made for Gene but could be one from later as Brad continued to make them. -SGT
Same auction, cross posted with e-bay. I predict it will go for over $1K.
But not to me
Up to 30% applied to the winning bid
Did this really sell for 15000,00.
I have three of them with solid paper work.
Never seen them go for so much before.
I tried to bid but the system kicked me out…not sure why ;(
And some thought my estimate of $5000.CDN was ridiculous for a BN P2 Hero. Welcome to the steep increase on Star Trek collectables. It’s not just that. I routinely look up stuff I own for fun and it IS going up in price. New fans get into Star Trek and look back. Great for fandom. Star Trek Lives! -SGT
I guess I don’t understand how these “live auctions” work. If you look at the bid history, there was only one bidder for the entire auction. How does the price go from $500.00 to $15000.00 with only one bidder? Personally, I don’t see this piece being worth $15000.00. Something smells about this.
This one was billed as a Phase II piece (not a normal convention model BN).
Anybody can list what they want. Brad said he sold 15 P2s to Gene Roddenberry so I wonder about that P1 because He continued to make those. I emailed him, He should find that interesting. -SGT
I guess only the winners bids are shown but I never saw that on eBay. -SGT
Sure, I wasn’t saying that the P1 in the auction actually was a Phase II P1. I was just saying that if the buyer took that (it was a Phase II P1) at face value it could (partially) explain the incredibly high selling price.
I have one of these as well. They are rare, but mine wasn’t associated with the production.
Any chance of seeing a picture? It would be interesting to compare a non-production model with the one in the auction.
Here are some pictures.
Thank you, great pictures. Well, it appears that you have a $15,000 P1 there!
Ha, believe me, if I thought I could sell it for that, it would be gone!
15K or no, you have a beautiful BN P1!
Only difference is the vinyl binder material added by BN on yours. -Steve
Steve, you mean the silver area on top? I thought it was metal, seems like is is cause it’s cold to the touch. It looks pretty much the same as in the auction. Is mine different? The dial/switch also rotates and clicks, too.
No, he’s talking about the rectangle of material just behind the ribbed crispy.
