Hey everyone. I just wanted refresh this thread. We're rapidly approaching the event, and I've been looking forward to it tremendously.
It turns out that Vegas this year is going to be a stop on a cross-country move for me from Boston to San Francisco, so I'll probably be a bit more scattered than I was hoping in the run-up to the party, but I'm determined not to let it get in the way of anything.
I still need to figure out what, if anything, we need for refreshments at the party. We did have a slight surplus from the cost sharing fund, which would just about cover some soft drinks. However, I'll probably foot the bill for some light food or snacks—I just have to work out the logistics of where to get them from. I'm going to see if the Chinese restaurant in the Gold Coast could do some take-out catering for us.
Regarding room access, the day of the event I'll message everyone on the guest list a cell number to text when you need access to the room and I'll have someone available to come let folks up, assuming that the elevator requires key card access. For people arriving right around the start time, we might have a meet-up at the Starbucks near the convention entrance and then all walk up to the room together and then just let the stragglers call when they need let up.
Anything else I should be considering, regarding refreshments or otherwise?
