And so what's every parents worse nightmare knowing their kid is away at college???? Getting that phone call in the middle of the night with bad news. Four freaking weeks, and already she's been involved an accident where the truck she was a passenger in flipped to it's side from the impact. The engine then caught fire, but thankfully both girls were pulled long before any smoke reached the cab. Both girls were kept over night for observation and released. Except for glass shards which needing to be removed for her arm, my girl escaped with only bumps and soreness.
Hopefully after this first semester she'll reconsider Texas and come home so she can go to school closer. This cross country horse s$#t just isn't cutting it for me. Since she's left, I've found that I can't really relax and focus on my prop work the way I once did because of the anxiety of having her on her own. I knew that once some time has passed, I would get used to her being on her own and settle down a bit. But I'm fast learning that being a parent has no such luxury.
Sorry guys . I don't mean to be the lone gray cloud in this sea of coolness. I just needed to get that off my chest.
