This one's for Steve Pielock. Watching "The Orville" on my vintage RCA CT-100. Nothing like those vintage 1954 phosphors!
Very cool they've had episode to of the Orville what night is it on now? That old TV set looks great!
It was just on.
9 to 10 or 8 to 9?
I heard it's moving to Thursday night after tonight's episode.
Yes. After tonight's episode, they announced it's moving to Fox on Thursday nights at 9PM -- starting this coming Thursday. So Orville fans (like me) will get to see two episodes this week!
The football game delayed tonight's episode and my recording only caught the beginning. Will have to watch it online, if I can.
Yep , I missed 3/4ths of it too due to football
I dream of a future where one day sports will be preempted for science fiction.
If sports inturrupts a series more than once I bail on the series. Can't be bothered to check and see how much time to add to TiVo.
The Orville is moving to Thursday nights, it's regular time slot.
TiVo will follow it automatically to another night but will not automatically shift recording time for sports. As long as fox doesn't carry Thursday night football/baseball or whatever ball I'll keep the season pass recording for Orville otherwise I'll cancel the recording of it.
Given I wouldn't watch any sports show I was free to watch Orville.
The show has great sets, cool props and the effects are mostly ok. The costumes leave MUCH to be desired. The dialogue banter is more inline with 3rd Rock than a science fiction show.It isn't to my liking
I like it, I think it's pretty hilarious. I love it for the subtle, nuanced humor...the gags are a little obvious for my taste but I do not find Seth McFarland quite as obnoxious as I thought he would be.
I'm impressed, it has great potential.
What Landru said. I watched it with my daughter and thoroughly enjoyed it -- especially the not-so-subtle reference to "The Cage."
I'm liking it so far. I'll stick with it. I had to watch it on On Demand as well as a fourth of it recorded thanks to the irritating sports delay.
We just watched ep2 on Hulu and liked it. Will keep watching for the time being.
I don't think anyone could have possibly missed that reference! Too funny
I liked the Orville, though I felt the zoo reference was more akin to the Twilight Zone ep. "people are alike all over'" (which also had the lovely Susan Oliver in it).
2 episodes in and I'm really loving this show. I'm glad about the move to Thursday night to avoid football.
