Here's my Saturday project, with thanks to all the great reference photos in this thread, and to TOSGraphics for the starting dimensions posted above
I only recently acquired a mini lathe and so am still re-learning and getting accustomed to its capabilities. I cheated a bit and did the shaft as a separate piece from the finned section due to rigidity concerns. In hindsight this was not necessary especially with the live center helping out.
The shaft should be a little shorter, or the hole in the angled piece a bit deeper - wasn't re-checking all of the references and ended up with the distance between the base and fins being about 3/16" too long.
The biggest pain was figuring out how to drill that angled hole in the base piece! Resorted to a messy combination of dremeling a small chamfer, a center punch, and then holding it with vise grips in a v-block on a drill press. There has to be a simpler way! Those of you who have, how did you do it? @pielock373 @Vhoxie
