How about counting squares in the mylar as a way to estimate the size? From the following screenshot, I’d say it was about 13 squares from edge to center (not including the painted background), and assuming symmetry would mean 26 total. The squares in the mylar of my “delta” wall icon are i’d say 1 and 3/8 inches (1.375") wide on average (but the height and width unfortunately vary, so this will not be a precise estimate). Anyway, assuming the same mylar, that comes to about 36 inches on the nose, or 3 feet for the diamond shaped icon.
Using the same technique, I estimate my icon is ~31 squares from tip to tip of the “boomerang” (including the painted sections), which comes to 42.625 inches, which compares to 41.5 inches long using a measuring tape), so I’d say counting squares is not too off the mark in terms of estimating size.
As with many of my thought processes, I can’t tell if this is a good one or laughably bad.
