Today was such an excellent meet-up! In attendance were: @karen, @nicksdad, @dave, @subxinu and his wife Megan, @JoeB and his wife Nancy, and myself and my husband Alan. All those who couldn’t be with us were missed, in particular @pielock373 and @dzircher, though we’re all looking forward to the STC meet-up in December and hoping everyone can attend (thanks again to @tosgraphics and @dave for organizing!)
This is already by far the best con I’ve ever attended in a lifetime of attending cons. I especially enjoyed hearing @nicksdad reminisce about his times touring the TNG sets and supplying a phaser for Tasha’s quarters. He also told me about a phaser kit he made, a copy of which I got at a convention in Pittsburgh when I was probably in the 5th grade or so. It was my first trek prop kit build-up, and certainly the most successful of any of the ones I did until rediscovering this hobby in adulthood. It was also excellent to hear about @JoeB’s amazing tricorder perfectionism and clever jigs. I also heard that @dave and @karen may be working on an amazing jewelry project for the 50th anniversary that is going to be fantastic!
@dave and Megan got the group shots, so I’ll let him post those when he gets a chance. But here are a few snaps I took:

And some photos of the amazing @nicksdad table:
His talking hero Nomad was certainly a highlight for everyone:
It was made mostly of machined aluminum (with a very heavy-duty armature), turned acrylic for the white lights on top, and a vacuum formed bit at the top.
He also had a couple of excellent non-Trek replicas
I’m so looking forward Okuda/Sternbach/Zimmerman/Drexler talk tomorrow, along with the VOY 20th anniversary panels.
Thanks everyone for making this such an excellent day. I’m definitely going to be leaving Vegas with a renewed sense of enthusiasm and momentum on so many projects I’ve been working on.
