I am in Sandusky Ohio.
Yes, I tried the caption thing and it is fascinating what you can get with a speaker larger than your eyeball...
I am looking for tricorder shells. I have the metalwork all set. I'd so very rather not have to duplicate others work by making bucks and doing my own shells...
The bigger picture is that my prop will have a Raspberry Pi in the bottom area with a battery and a LCD display in the head. My current experiments show that I can store all the TOS episodes on a 64GB SD card along with all the screen caps to have the display show what it did on the show.
I will hide in the vertical divider between the memory discs and the speaker a headphone jack. I already have the speaker grille ready to print on the 3D printer per the TOS SFTM (an extruded moire pattern boolean subtracted from a solid disc).
So that is the big plan. All I need are some good shells... or a done tricorder I can dis-assemble to fit the electronics.
If the MR tricorders were not so alarmingly expensive I would just retrofit this stuff into it.
